[Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
Wizard of Oz Wizard of Oz is an encounter in the Opera House in Karazhan. It includes Dorothee, Roar, Strawman, Tinhead, Dorothee's summoned dog Tito, and The Crone. This event requires at least 1 person on the stage to start. If you fail to have a player on the stage to talk to the old lady, you will be stuck outside the stage door. If this happens, the event will be stuck, unable to reset.
110,000 Health, ?? Mana Abilities: Roar is rather cowardly, and susceptible to fear. However, often he will run into one of the two doors and go out of line of sight making him very difficult to keep constantly feared. Be prepared for many early breaks and resists, as he seems to do this quite often.Strawman 110,000 Health, ?? Mana Abilities: Burning Straw: Extremely high chance for Strawman to be disoriented for 6 seconds when struck by fire damage abilities. Scorch & Searing Pain are excellent abilities to proc this debuff.Tinhead 110,000 Health, ?? Mana Abilities: Cleave: 5 yd range. Instant. Inflicts Physical damage to an enemy and its nearest allies, affecting up to 3 targets. The Crone 150,000 Health, ?? Mana Abilities: Cyclone: Knocks the player up into the air. Interrupts casting, although instacast spells can still be used while in the air. Avoidable by moving around the stage.Tactics: Dorothee: This mob is untankable. It's useless to try because it would just be a waste. Her waterbolts cannot be interrupted. Remember to kill Tito after her. Tito: This little dog is almost not worth tanking. If you have an extra warrior in the group, try having him focus on the dog while the rest of the raid does something else. If you don't have an extra warrior, you can just throw him a taunt and a sunder every so often. Roar: This lion is extremely susceptible to fear. He should be chain feared until you choose to kill him, and maybe even while your killing him. All fears (minus paladin fear) can be used on him, even fear beast. Strawman: This scarecrow is almost always stunned when you hit him with a direct damage fire spell (immolate DoT will not stun him each tick). Put a mage chain casting scorch or a warlock chain casting searing pain on him. A mage/warlock can almost solo this guy if left for a while. This guy is good to leave last. Tinhead: The man in plate hits very very hard. Try to keep him away from the raid. Each time you hit tinman with a frost spell, he will gain a buff that reduces his movement speed. This makes him very easy to kite. Do not let a mage kite him alone however, or they will die in 1-2 hits. Have a tank kite him with a mage casting ice lance(?) on the side. The Crone: After killing all the mobs, a witch will apear and yell something. I believe it is a small time to sit down and drink right after the first mobs are down, but I may be wrong. She will summon those cyclones and start attacking the nearest person. The entire raid should have enough time to spread out before she goes active. The raid should stay spread out the entire fight to avoid chain lightening. But they also need to avoid the cyclones. The order in which you kill the above mobs is dependent on what your group is like. For example: if you are heavy on healers, it may be best to kill Dorothee last because you can heal through the waterbolts easy. Or if you don't have a mage/destruction warlock, it may be better to kill the strawman first. Our Role: Our roll in the fight is probably going to be fearing Roar. If you're not put on fearing Roar, you may be chain casting searing pain on Strawman. After those two rolls, only then is our roll to DPS. Watch agro, especially on Roar since he can run off and kill a healer if not kept feared. Kill Movies: Looking for a good quality kill movie - please post link below if you know of one. This information was taken from a current guide being put together by Hestocklem, which is why the original post is under their name. In everything we do however, there is always room for improvement, so please help by contributing any additional information, strategies and tips. As with all previous boss threads, information and improvements will be taken from your replies.

My guild usually have one tank kiting him from side to side of the stage. Just make sure to heal the tank while Tinhead isn´t slowed |

Re: [Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
Also, my guild found it very helpful for the warlocks to un-phase shift our imps and have them shoot fireballs at strawman, for a bit of added dps. Just be careful about spamming searing pain on strawman because if you do get enough agro he will hit you for about 2.5K a swing.

Re: [Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
for a desto lock incinerate spam will work well too as there is less threat generated and assuming the debuff stays on higher dps |

Re: [Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
the statement about Frost Spells causing Tinman to rust is incorrect. The rust debuff is on a timer and is 100% unaffected by any type of spell. |

A huge thankyou to Minidevil of the guild White Eagles (server unsure) for shooting me through an email and letting me know of their youtube.com videos of Karazhan bosses! I'm always interested in the fights from a Warlock's perspective! ![]() Quote:

Re: [Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
i never ever use searing pain in pve (pvp its great) only advise here i can give to locks is to create a macro as your main job here will be to keep Roar chain feared. /target Roar /cast Fear apart from that just dps! |

Re: [Karazhan] Wizard of Oz
Just a note on strawman, we didnt have a fire mage so i had to take care of strawman, and immolate and incerate actually managed to take him down to half health, so it made it easeir to take him down. Just some things to help: A dragonhawk fire breath keeps is quite useful, as are fire traps, flame shock and imp. Have a healer watch out if you have a warlock life tapping. If strawman comes towards you try to use conflagrate Roar: We had an affliciton lock chain fearing roar, and the /target roar /cast fear macro works like a charm.
