Quest Basics:
Version :
Alliance
Starts with
:
Demisette Cloyce
Ends with :
Menara Voidrender
Can start at :
Level 31
Best at :
Ranges in the 30's
When you reach level 31, Demisette Cloyce in The Slaughtered Lamb in Stormwind will provide you with the
starting point of the quest to obtain your Enchanted Gold Bloodrobe, one of the
best robes out there for Warlocks that level. In most cases, if you're a Human
Warlock especially, you are already heading down there to start the quest to get
your Felhunter, and as both quests direct you to Ratchet, you might as well pick
this one up at the same time.
There are a couple of ways to get to Ratchet depending on what flight paths you
have already opened. Since you are in Stormwind already, if you have the Booty
Bay flight path open, its easy to jump on a Griffon to there and then hop the
boat from Booty Bay direct to Ratchet.
If you don't have the
Booty Bay flight path yet, you are going to want to catch a Tram to Ironforge,
catch a griffon to Wetlands and take the boat to Theramore. From there you are
going to have to make the long run through Dustwallow Marsh and The Barrens to
get to Ratchet.
Once you are in Ratchet,
head up to Menara Voidrender. At level 32 I received 625 experience just for
that simple tast.

This is where the real
quest begins. To start with, Menara wants you to fetch her the Robes of Arcana.
I am lucky enough to have a Priest alt who is also a Tailor and has the recipe,
so I changed characters really quick to make one. If you are a Tailor yourself,
then round up 4 x Bolts of Silk Cloth, 2 x Spider's Silk and 2 x Fine Thread.
If you are unable to make
one yourself, you could check the thread -
Robe of Arcana. Who can make them on each server!
- on the Warlocks Den forums which people had added their names for Warlocks to
contact for the robe. If there is no one on your server, then head on over to
the Auction House, as of January 2004 they sell for no more than 2 gold. Once
you have that, head back to Menara.

Once you have handed in
the Robes of Arcana, the next part is to obtain a Gold Bar and head to Booty Bay
in Stranglethorn Vale to see Xizk Goodstith. There he will take the gold bar and
turn it into Gold Thread for you to collect later on. If you have mining as your
profession then you just need to find a Gold Vein and smelt the ore down.
Alternatively ask any friends of guild mates if they have any spare, as you only
need 1 x Gold Bar, I would be surprised if they said no :-) If all else
fails, head to the Auction House!
Since
you are in Ratchet, if you run down to the docks, the boat that arrives will
take you directly to Booty Bay. Once you land there, you want to head up to
where the griffon area is, up near there is a Tailoring hut in which you will
find Xizk. Once you have found him, hand in the gold bar, which as you can see
makes him very excited.
The Gold Thread takes some
time to complete, so while he's doing that, head back to Ratchet to see what
else Menara wants you to do.
Quickest way is to jump
back on the boat. :-)
For the next part you need
to collect 10 x Vials of Hatefury Blood and 1 x Lesser Infernal Stone. Both of
these items come from Desolace. There's probably multiple ways to get to
Desolace, but since I was already in Ratchet I ran out and across the Barrens to Stonetalon Mountains, through there to Desolace. Between Stonetalon and Desolace
there's an area with heaps of Harpies, you can pick and weave your way through
with care, but be warned if you get jumped by multiples they can hurt.
Once you hit Desolace, you
want to head across to the top North East part of the map where you will find Sargeron, here you will find the mobs that drop your blood. Once you have killed
enough to collect your 10 x Vials, head down to where I marked out on the map
above, Mannoroc Coven. I had a blast in this area with all the Infernal,
Felhunter, Doomguard and Succubus looking mobs. All the mobs you need to kill
for these parts are around the level 36 to 38, but I was fortunate enough to
have the boyfriend helping me out on his 42 Warrior. If you are going to attempt
this solo, you might want to wait a few levels.
My Lesser Infernal Stone
dropped on the first mob, so after only half an hour in the zone I headed back
to Menara to hand in.
Just when you think Menara
is done with you, she proves you wrong. Three last things to collect before you
can obtain your robe.
The first one is easy, you
need to head back to Booty Bay because your Gold Thread is ready, and since you
are in Ratchet, just hop on the boat. From Booty Bay I flew to Stormwind, took a
Tram to Ironforge and then a Griffon to Refuge Point, Arathi Highlands. This is
where you want to go to collect your 2 x Smoldering Coal. I have marked a blue
dot on the map above so you can find them with ease. Again these mobs were a bit
higher then I was, most of them around 37 to 39, but if the boyfriend wanted to
sleep that night he knew he had to come help me.

Didn't take me long to
get both to drop, so once again I headed back to Menara in Ratchet. Before
you head back, make sure you have a spare soul shard as that is the third
item you need. Once you are back though, hand in and complete the final
stage of the quest. Menara has a funny way of 'sewing' your robe together as
she rubs her hands back and forth, but eventually she is complete and your
robe is ready for you to pick up!
